Within the framework of participation in the ITU Telecom-2017 in Busan, the Minister of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus Sergey Popkov held talks with ITU Secretary-General Houlin Zhao. During the talks the topical issues related to international development trends of information and communication technologies at the present stage and further development of cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and ITU were discussed. In particular, in the course of negotiations with ITU Secretary-General the issues of effective use of ITU’s capabilities to ensure coordinated cooperation of the ITU member-states on topical issues of the current agenda of the world ICT market development, further promotion of the contribution of the Republic of Belarus to enhance the status of the ITU Area Office in Moscow, thematic events on the development of ICT with the support of ITU and implementation of promising joint projects on the territory of the Republic of Belarus were discussed.
