On February 10, the Ministry of Communications hosted a working meeting between the Minister of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus Konstantin Shulgan and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to the Republic of Belarus Juan Valdes Figueroa. During the working meeting, prospects for the development of Belarusian-Cuban cooperation in the field of communications and information and communication technologies were discussed. During the constructive dialogue, mutual confidence was expressed that the development of intercountry cooperation in this area could provide an additional impetus for further strengthening of Belarusian-Cuban trade and economic relations. The meeting also allowed for an exchange of invitations to take part in the 18th International Convention and Fair “Together for Digital Transformation”, which will be held from March 21 to 25, 2022 in Havana and the 28th International ICT Forum “TIBO -2022”, which is scheduled to take place in Minsk in June 2022. The meeting resulted in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation in the field of communications between the Ministry of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus and the Ministry of Communications of the Republic of Cuba, aimed at developing cooperation in the field of telecommunications, postal services, the introduction of information and communication technologies in industries and functional areas of the economy, including introduction of smart city and e-government technology.
