Today, a Round Table dedicated to the creation of safe digital space for the growing generation is taking place in Minsk. 🎯 Topic: Protecting children in the digital environment: the state, businesses, and international organizations working together The event is aimed to consolidate resources and expertise in order to confront digital threats and to create a comfortable online environment for the children’s development. 💡 Key objectives:• Sharing experience and best practices in order to protect children online;• Presenting information campaigns and educational projects;• Fostering expert dialogue and bilateral cooperation. 👥 Participants: representatives of the Ministry of Communications, the Ministry of Education, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Regional Office, businesses, and international organizations. 🗣 Opening the event, Mr. Pavel Tkach, First Deputy Minister of Communications and Informatization, emphasized the following: “The digital world pushes the boundaries of what is possible, but at the same time it blurs the boundaries of safety. It is essential to constantly enhance digital literacy of children, parents, and teachers, transforming them from passive users into informed and protected ‘citizens’ of the network”. 🛡 What is already being done at the state level? • The Ministry of Education coordinates the issues related to protecting children in the virtual environment; • The Ministry of Communications is responsible for technical implementation: interacting with the network operators on the issues of development and implementation of modern services that feature flexible parental control functionality and filtration of unwanted content, as well as providing tariff plans for children; • The Ministry of Internal Affairs works on the prevention of digital delinquency; • Network operators conduct educational courses and special projects for young users.
